Play based intervention is child-lead and based on a child's interests. This provides a meaningful way to support children develop a range of developmental skills.
Language refers to the vocabulary, sentences and grammar used to communicate a range of functions. Language is made up of 2 main components.
Receptive Language is the ability to understand, process and retain verbal information in order to follow directions and engage with others
Expressive Language refers to using words and sentences (including grammar) to express thoughts and feelings
This is the way in which sounds are produced and combined to say words.
We provide assessment to identify errors/pattern of errors in a child’s speech, which is then used to determine goals for intervention.
Literacy is the integration of spoken and written language.
Spoken language provides the foundation for literacy development. The development of reading and writing supports language competence.
It is common for children with language difficulties to require additional support with reading and writing.
